On August 19th, the Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) added 407 products to the list of steel derivative items that are now subject to 50% Section 232 Steel and Aluminum tariffs under the Trade Expansion Act of 1962. The 50% tariff will apply to the value of the steel and aluminum content in the 407 items. Non-steel and aluminum content will be subject to the reciprocal and other applicable tariffs. The complete list of 407 items subject to the Section 232 tariffs is listed by harmonized tariff code and can be found HERE in the official Federal Register notice of this new regulatory change.
